Why is the sales tax on my lease invoice higher than normal?

Sales tax- You may notice that the sales tax amount on your invoice is higher than the rate in your state. The reason for this is that the leasing company does not pay the sales tax on the monthly lease payment, rather, it makes one lump payment to the state for the total amount financed, and then finances that! The result is that you will be paying 1-1.5% more than your local sales tax rate. There’s nothing you can do about this.

To lease or not to lease?

If you are in a position to buy the copier that you need, this is the most economical way to get it. Leasing affords many companies the ability to get productive technology quickly and easily. You must be in business for two years and have very good credit to be approved for a lease. Start ups will require a personal guarantee from a principal to have any chance for approval.

What about upgrading equipment in mid-lease?

If you wish to terminate your current lease and upgrade with your present leasing company, this is very easy. The balance of payments will be added to the vendor’s bottom line and are worked into your future payments. The leasing company likes to renew business and thus makes the process relatively seamless. Switching leasing companies in mid-lease in order to upgrade can be a very pricey endeavor, and it is so by design. Leasing companies do not like it when customers leave in mid-lease. If you are dissatisfied with your vendor and wish to go to another, remember:

The leasing company owns your copier; they need to know if it’s going to be moved and will have to give permission to move it.
The leasing company will not accept early returns from non-originating vendors. Meaning you will have to store the machine.
Insurance on stored or unused machines must be varried to lease end whether it’s being used or not.
End of lease notification will still need to be done within the leasing company’s parameters. Obligation to do so is yours, and not the new vendor’s no matter what.

ACS Lasagna Dinner kicks off Holiday Season

What began as a simple way to thank our customers has become a major holiday event in the community! Every year around Christmas the president of our company, Giovanni DiLalla, dons his cooking apron and prepares lasagna from an old family recipe, to serve to our growing family of customers. We convert our warehouse into a dining room and welcome all of our customers to an authentic Italian dinner. Over 250 people turned out this year to enjoy what is reputedly the best lasagna in town. The customer appreciation that is part of our day to day operation is highlighted with this event. This year we even delivered our last remaining tray of lasagna to an organization that was unable to attend! That’s American Copier Solutions service: Always coming through in the clutch!
